Welcome to
Wags at Crags
Hi, I’m Dr Lea Lango-Scholey, I am an experienced dog trainer based in Sutton (Retford). I have a degree in zoology and I’ve been interested in dog psychology and behaviour for as long as I can remember.
I have been running my own dog training company since 2019 and I am currently studying towards certification as a Canine Science Behaviourist. I use science backed positive reinforcement approach and teach owners force-free training techniques to help eliminate unwanted behaviours and build a trusting relationship with their dogs.

About
Lea
I’m Dr Lea Lango-Scholey, I founded Wags at Crags in 2019 with a mission to provide affordable dog training and behaviour services backed by scientific evidence of force-free and reward-based techniques. I am currently working towards a Level 6 qualification from the School of Canine Science to become a Canine Science Behaviourist.
My interest in dog behaviour started when I was a child and lead me to study Zoology at the University of Bristol, where I was particularly attracted to their world-famous Animal Behaviour unit.
After graduating and then completing a Research Masters at the University of Bath with distinction, I was lucky and honoured to be offered a PhD scholarship in Molecular Microbiology University College Cork, Ireland, followed by a postdoctoral research position in foodborne bacteria at the Universities of Nottingham and Leicester. However, my passion and interest in dog behaviour, along with the support of my husband and the arrival of our daughter, led me to hang up the lab coat and officially become a dog trainer.
Since starting Wags at Crags Dog Training & Behaviour I’ve helped hundreds of dogs and their owners with a range of behaviour issues and basic manners. I’m passionate about helping human parents understand how their furry friends think, why they do ‘naughty’ things, and how choice-based learning is the best way to achieve long-lasting results whilst maintaining a strong and trusting relationship with your dog.
